Podium AI Employee is the AI agent inside Podium, a lead management and messaging platform for local service businesses. It answers phone calls with a voice AI, handles texts, web chat, email and social messages, answers questions from the business’s own information, and books appointments onto its calendar or dispatch board. Podium sells it in industry versions: Larry for HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors, Jerry for car dealerships, and Avery for med spas, where voice answering is marked coming soon. Podium’s Terms of Service (version 7.0, effective October 15, 2026) say that if the client is a HIPAA covered entity or business associate, ‘Podium and Client agree to the terms of Podium’s BAA’. The BAA text itself could not be read, so whether it covers AI Employee voice calls is not stated. The aesthetics site says Podium ‘complies with HIPAA’, and Avery’s voice answering for med spas is marked coming soon.
